basics
What is the Badass Human Race?+
It is an urban obstacle event built for real people, not only elite athletes. The El Paso course is planned at approximately three miles with 15 or more obstacles. Run it, walk it, ask for help and keep moving.
When and where is the El Paso event?+
Badass Human Race El Paso takes place on June 6, 2027. The venue, start and finish locations, and full event schedule will be announced after final approvals.
How long is the course?+
Plan for approximately three miles. The official route will be released closer to race day and may change if required for permitting, weather or safety.
Who can participate?+
The current participation age is 16 and older. Participants who are 16 or 17 will need a parent or legal guardian to complete the required waiver. Spectators may attend at any age.
What is included with general admission?+
General admission is expected to include a race bib, course access, participant hydration, festival access and a finisher medal after completing the course. Check the registration details on RunSignup before purchasing.
Will there be a VIP option?+
TBD A limited VIP experience is planned. Benefits, pricing and availability will be announced with registration.
02Registration
Registration
& teams
How do I register?+
Buy your El Paso race ticket on RunSignup. Choose an available start wave, enter your participant information and complete checkout. Visit our ticket page for VIP and gear details.
Can I register with a team?+
Yes. Create a team or join one during registration on RunSignup, then invite your teammates to register and join the same team.
How can my team race together?+
Each teammate should select the same available wave during registration. Waves have limited capacity, so teammates should register early and coordinate before checking out.
Are registrations refundable or transferable?+
TBD The final 2027 refund and transfer policy will be displayed before purchase. Unless the registration page states otherwise, expect entries to be nonrefundable and use only the official transfer option if one is offered.
Do I need to sign a waiver?+
Yes. Every participant must have a completed waiver before receiving a bib or entering the course. A parent or legal guardian must complete the waiver for a participant under 18.
Can someone else use my bib?+
No, unless the registration system offers an official transfer and that transfer is completed. Informal bib sharing creates safety and emergency-contact problems and may invalidate the entry.
03Race
Race
day
What time will I start?+
TBD Participants will select an available start wave during registration. See the available start times during registration on RunSignup.
How early should I arrive?+
Plan to arrive 30–45 minutes before your wave, but not before the event gates open. Your pre-race guide will include parking, check-in and warm-up timing.
What if I miss my wave?+
Go to the information booth when you arrive. Staff may move you to the next available opportunity if capacity and safety allow, but another start time cannot be guaranteed.
Where do I check in or pick up my packet?+
TBD Packet-pickup dates, hours and location will be announced closer to race day. Bring the photo ID and registration confirmation requested in the event guide.
Will there be a bag drop?+
TBD A limited bag-drop area is planned. Size limits, operating hours and any fee will be published in the event guide. Please leave valuables at home.
What should I wear and bring?+
Wear athletic clothing and shoes you are comfortable getting wet or dirty. Bring sunscreen, sun protection, a refillable bottle if desired and a change of clothes. Gloves are optional.
What happens if the weather is bad?+
The event proceeds when conditions are safe. Severe weather or other hazards may require course changes, delays, postponement or cancellation under the published event policy. Updates will be sent through official event channels.
04Obstacles
Obstacles
& safety
Do I have to complete every obstacle?+
No. Skip an obstacle if you do not feel comfortable attempting it. A substitute movement or penalty area may apply; the official 2027 obstacle rules will be included in the event guide.
What are the 2027 obstacles?+
TBD The course is planned with 15 or more obstacles. The lineup will be revealed closer to race day and may change for safety, permitting or course conditions.
Will the cold plunge return?+
TBD The final obstacle lineup has not been announced. If a cold-water obstacle is included, participants must follow staff instructions and never dive into it.
Will water be available on the course?+
Participant hydration is planned at designated points. The exact locations will appear on the course map. You may bring personal hydration if it complies with the final allowed-items policy.
Will medical support be available?+
Yes. Race-day safety and medical support will be available. Tell the nearest staff member immediately if you or another participant needs help; call 911 for an emergency.
What if I have a health or fitness concern?+
Train for the distance and obstacles at an appropriate level. Consult a qualified health professional before participating if you have concerns, and stop during the event if you feel unwell.
05Spectators
Spectators
& festival
Can friends and family attend?+
Yes. Spectator access is planned to be free, although some controlled or premium areas may require credentials. A viewing map will be available closer to the event.
Will food and drinks be available?+

Will there be an afterparty?+
TBD A finish-line celebration is planned. Entertainment, hours, age restrictions and any ticketed areas will be confirmed later.
Can I bring a pet?+
Service animals are welcome as required by law. The general pet policy is still being finalized; because of crowds, heat and noise, please do not plan to bring a pet unless the final event guide confirms it is allowed.
Can spectators bring chairs or strollers?+
TBD The final allowed-items policy will be published with the festival map. Chairs and strollers will not be allowed on the race course.

Where should out-of-town participants stay?+
TBD Hotel and travel recommendations will be added after the start and finish locations are confirmed.
What items are not allowed?+
Do not bring outside alcohol, illegal drugs, firearms, weapons, ammunition, fireworks, explosives, glass or unauthorized drones. The event guide will list any additional restrictions, including tent and canopy rules.
